AngelTrax announced a new windshield-mounted mobile DVR and camera combination that records views of oncoming traffic and in-cab activity to protect drivers from false claims and to mitigate unwanted driver behaviors.
The new Co-Pilot-RFID includes integrated, wide-angle lens cameras that provide 160-degree views of the vehicle interior and exterior, the company explained. It also allows drivers to use an RFID card to log data and embed the driver’s employee number into DVR footage and video’s permanent metadata to increase the efficiency of record keeping.
AngelTrax added that when coupled with its MotoTrax online surveillance manager, each scan of the RFID card will send updates to MotoTrax with the driver’s starting time and coordinates, providing a near real-time analysis of a driver’s route.
“Reducing liability is a key element in increasing efficiency for fleets, and this system allows fleet supervisors to do that in two ways: cutting down on bad driving behaviors and proving good drivers weren’t at fault during incidents beyond their control,” said AngelTrax President and CEO Richie Howard. “With the CoPilot-RFID, the supervisor can see when and where drivers start their routes and have the video evidence to understand the driver’s actions.”
