First Student Presents $5,000 to Wichita Public Schools

CINCINNATI — First Student, a leading provider in school bus transportation, announced that it recently donated $5,000 to sponsor the Wichita Public Schools (WPS) USD259 golf tournament.

The annual fundraiser supports WPS’s Educational Edge Program, a nonprofit that raises funds for athletics, fine arts, and project grants for classrooms and teachers within the district.

“We are thrilled to be able to make a donation that supports the schools in our community and the students we transport every day,” said John Billigmeier, First Student senior location manager. “For many, these are our children, our schools and our community and we embrace this opportunity to give back as a company.”

James McNiece, event organizer, Darren Muci, director of division operations USD 259, and John Billingmeier presented the donation at the July 8, 2013 WPS Board of Education meeting.
