The OEM announced a recall recently due to a braking issue with an incorrect clearance condition.
General Motors is currently recalling certain model year 2011 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vehicles, which are used as chassis for certain Type A school buses, because of an issue with “a clearance condition in which the right rear brake hose may contact the tire or wheel rim.” The brake hose could be worn down if it repeatedly contacts the tire or wheel rim, leading to a reduction in the effectiveness of the braking system.
Dealers have been instructed to secure the right rear brake hose, to ensure sufficient clearance, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on or before May 13, 2011. Owners may contact Chevrolet at 800-630-2438 or GMC at 866-996-9463, or visit www.gmownercenter.com.
