The Florida Department of Education announced it is partnering with the Florida Departments of Transportation, Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and the Florida Highway Patrol to present the first of two Webinars on the state's School Bus Safety Week.

Members of the National Association for State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services are invited to submit presentation ideas for the upcoming national conference held this fall in Portland, Ore.

Roughly half of all states require school buses to be equipped with crossing control arms. According to the Minnesota School Bus Operators Association, a bill will be proposed next year to better protect school kids with these safety devices.

The NAPT Board of Directors and the NAPT Program Committee announced the release of the tentative program and list of workshops that will be available at the 2010 NAPT Summit, the association’s 36th Annual Conference & Trade Show, which will be held from October 31 to November 4, 2010 in Portland, Ore.
