NHSA Presses for Head Start Funding

The National Head Start Association is calling out to its members to lobby Congress to find new champions of the Head Start and Early Head Start programs.

NHSA has launched its eight-week campaign, entitled “Building a Home for Head Start in the New Congress,” to attempt to reach all the newly elected and seasoned members of Congress to inform them of the need to keep funding the 45-year-old program. NHSA has made it easy for members to contact their federal representatives, including creating an online form to send a letter introducing the program and explaining its importance.

Members can also watch a short video on the new campaign. There is also an online petition to push Congress to provide at least $8.2 billion for Head Start and Early Head Start in fiscal year 2011.
