The transportation department for the Stevens Point Area Public School District in central Wisconsin is seeking a strong candidate for a Mechanic I position.
Report and account to the Transportation Maintenance Supervisor. Evaluation and additional supervision is provided by the Transportation Manager. Perform repair and service maintenance on district vehicles. Coordinate the preventive maintenance program including the vehicle servicing (inspections, lubrication, filters, etc.) and tire maintenance, subject to review of Transportation Maintenance Supervisor. Coordinate and direct the body work repair program. Purchase routine items for vehicle servicing as directed by the Transportation Maintenance Supervisor. Assume additional responsibilities as directed by the Transportation Maintenance Supervisor or Transportation Manager.
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Must possess a Wisconsin Commercial Drivers’ License with passenger endorsement (school bus endorsement optional). Base salary of $21.32 per hour for the eight hour per day, year round position with benefits as set forth in the Stevens Point Area Public School District Employee Handbook and Board policy. Desired start date: as soon as possible.
